Street art in Athens is absolutely amazing. Athens is one of the most exciting cities I have seen so far. Already I am excited to go back. In order to see how it is when COVID-19 quarantine isn’t active. Even though I must say we were quite lucky. We still got the opportunity to see many things and explore the city in quite.
The food, the art, the people, and the city itself is fantastic. It feels very young and fresh, a bit like Berlin, but in a baby phase. You can see the country is in the recovery of a mourning period. That you can feel and see in the streets with hopes of a better tomorrow.
Street art in Athens is the reason why you feel this hope.
Some of the ugliest corners become the most beautiful. Just because of the amazing paintings you find on the wall.
Athene makes you feel like the world is open of opportunities, and the geographical location makes it even more amazing.
Only 20 minutes to go to the beach in the city centre. Acropolis and Plaka function as the headquarters of the city. Acropolis and Plaka are the older city centres.
The lively neighbourhoods around it make it perfect for young families and students. Athens offers everything for everyone, its diversity is inspiring, and the prices make it very affordable to be there.
Even though when the lockdown was set in place. Everything closed down and the food was only for pick up. It forced us (my boyfriend and I) to move on the streets. Searching for the right spots to eat, and beautiful places to take a break. I guess COVID 19 was the reason why we have seen most impressive Street art in Athens.
Have you ever been to Athens, what is your favourite memory?
