Artist Info

Wendy Nouse (b. 1990, Maastricht, Netherlands) is a multidisciplinary artist working across conceptual research, performance, installation, and abstract painting. Her practice operates at the intersection of social, philosophical, and spiritual inquiry. Operating from her studio in France, her canvases map internal geographies, spiritual transit, and raw psychological research through an intuitive exploration of human connection and emotional alchemy. Working fluidly with oil, charcoal, plaster, and rich pigment, her tactile compositions capture personal transformation, emotional weight, and sacred presence.

Turning inward to explore internal geographies, Residues of Living visualizes the inner struggle and redefinition of self that occurs when an individual is unrooted, displaced, or isolated from an established social context. Intensified during the COVID-19 lockdowns, this visual mapping of inner research asserts in Residue of Living that the one thing an individual cannot run from is oneself. Confronting fundamental human requirements in Je Recherche..., the collection examines the subtle trap of surrounding energies in Under the Surface, leads into the raw confessions of Mural Continuous Line, and fine-tunes the authentic self in The Illusion of Rest. This evolution requires endlessly recomposing personal history in Terrain Vague, practicing radical love in One-Way Mirror, and embracing second chances through distant acoustic echoes in Ce Qui Reste, capturing the exact moment one accepts the surrender of outcome control.
